Step one: The component design process. Client approaches Swift for advice as well as a cost analysis of a component.  The Swift design team then discusses the part with the customer. They consider the function of the final product, the expected life-span and finally, any environment aspects. Swift offers suggestions on the most effective material and finish for the job, raising options to improve the functionality and additionally increase the efficiency of the manufacturing process.  Lead-time discussion and an order is raised.

Step two: Production scheduling.  First of all, we use a world-class ERP system to schedule & manage production. The customer is advised of an accurate ETA. It is confirmed that any necessary tooling is current and that all drawings are approved and updated to the latest revision. Material is purchased. The team discusses any critical dimensions or specialty features with the production team. These points are included in the work instructions and points added to the Quality Assessment checklist.

Step three: Tooling and Jig design is completed and incoming material is checked and receipted.

Step four: Simultaneously production commences including the manufacture of welding jigs if required. Initial components are approved by the Production Manager and if possible compared for fitment.

Step five: Regular checking of production at all work stages. The office staff use our complex ERP Software to provide accurate up-to-the-minute job tracking. Ensuring full information at any stage in the Component process.

Step six: Final check of components by two team members. The completion of a detailed quality checklist for every job and components are checked against samples and customer drawings. Package of parts for safe transit to the customer’s required delivery address. Where possible a freight tracking number is provided, as the final stage in Swift’s entire Concept to Component process.
